The creative journey continues…
In the aftermath of London Screenwriters Festival, I’ve tried my hardest to keep up the momentum of networking and pitching. I was lucky enough to be invited to attend yet another Aspö Writing lab, this time in Berlin, which was just as inspiring and fun as the others I’ve been to, but in a way even more so than previous ones because for the first time I actually had a scene submitted — so I was there in capacity of actor and writer! It was such an amazing experience to see a scene I’ve written, from a project that is still in the very early stages of writing, performed and workshopped with some incredible actors. And what I enjoyed in particular was the hilarious improv that arose, which solidified my conviction that dark comedy is my new favourite genre, so there will probably a lot of that from me in the future!
Meanwhile, I’m continuing to pull the pre-production of Still life along stubbornly. I met with a fellow filmmaker the other day that quite liked my pitch (!) and is currently reading the script. If he likes it, he’ll send it on to his producer contacts, so fingers crossed.
