Need to come up with a better English title than “Little sock & Sister gloom”

My short film “Lillstrumpa & Systerdyster” made the region cut for the Swedish Film Institute’s short film grant for young female filmmakers and is one of the projects from Stockholm now being examined by the institution. So basically, we haven’t received any money yet, but we’ve qualified for the finals as it were. Anja’s film “Agnes & Tobias” did too. So fingers crossed for the both of us. We’ll know before the holidays, apparently. Which is a relief. Wouldn’t want that hanging over your head, sullying your Yuletide cheer.
I just realised when I received the email from Filmbasen yesterday, that if we don’t get this grant then it might be impossible for us to actually make this film. Because, if we get Filmbasen’s grant for my other film “Begrav mig på bakgården” that we’ll be shooting before this one, we won’t be eligible for a new grant until completion of the previous, and there’s no way we can edit a novella film (28,5 mins) in just a couple of months, is there…
And I’m not sticking around beyond spring of 2013 if I can help it, so if it doesn’t get shot next summer, it’s simply not getting shot. Which is a pity, when it’s such a sweet little thing of a film, but unfortunately unavoidable…
On my way to work now. Same school as last week. And the agency phoned my last night and said the teacher I’m temping (or substituting) for, won’t be back until mid-December, so I just signed for three more weeks in this place. It’s weird having your calendar booked that far ahead. Now I know what my days will look like until December 9th — I guess there’s still the nights… But I won’t be able to jump into any projects filming during this time, so that’s going to get boringly predictable after a while…
