As a multimedia and interdisciplinary artist and storyteller, Ida uses a varied practise consisting of moving images, painting, drawing, mixed media, written word and soundscapes, with the intention of transcending and breaking down the barriers of traditionally structured narratives, in order to explore themes like life and death, power structures and struggles, gender, neurodiverse mindscapes and the human condition from different perspectives (even if they're all hers.) Ida is an autodidact artist, with formal education in writing and filmmaking from Broby Grafiska (Screenwriting) and Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (Film Foundation) et al. She has had pieces (paintings) in local exhibitions in Sweden when she was younger, but had to drop out of art school at the age of seventeen due to mental illness and, even though artistic expression is what helped her recover, she later elected to change her discipline to theatre and film. In the ten years since graduating, she has focused on writing and filmmaking; she has written seven short film scripts that have gone into production, five of which she directed herself, and recently finished co-writing a feature film and has also written another feature screenplay by herself, both of which are now in pre-production. Ida started making art films and video art pieces on the side (in semi-secret) in 2015; in 2019 she began a new passion project, a collection of poetry videos, that has inspired her to start exploring art film in earnest. >>>>>>>>>> art films >>> illustration / design >>> photography .
