Hello there! My name is Ida Thomasdotter. I’m an actress, writer, director, editor and sometimes-artist (!) from Sweden, currently based in London, UK.
A little bit about me: I’m very creative, I’m also very sensitive, smart and moody (I don’t mean I’m short-tempered, I mean I’m a high-functioning bipolar person so I have more pronounced “ups and downs” than your average person.) I love animals. I grew up in a very political and cultured family, in a small working class village in the north of Sweden. Draw what conclusions you will from that combination. I am also easily excitable, especially about creative and artistic things (if you ever go to the cinema or theatre with me, or allow me to brainstorm a new story idea with you, you will definitely find yourself in the cross-fire of a pair of almost-manic eyes and see a lot of hand waving, you might even get to witness a grown woman literally skip down the street… obviously, if this is not something you wish to experience or be seen next to, don’t take me to the cinema.)
And a little bit about professional me: I’ve studied film and theatre for seven years in different schools; I attended the Acting program at Vancouver Film School, Film Foundation at Stockholm’s Academy of Dramatic Arts and Broby Grafiska’s Scriptwriting Program, amongst others. I also worked as 1st and 2nd assistant director, script supervisor and casting assistant in a number of independent film productions in Stockholm for about five years, before moving to London, which taught me a lot as well.
I tend to have several projects on the go at the same time. Right now, I’m trying to find a producer for my first feature film project as a writer/director while working on two TV show ideas, my second novel and doing a bit of acting. I finished my latest (fifth) short film “Blodsmak / Blood” in the spring of 2016 and it’s currently being considered by film festivals around the world. On this site you will find a collection of portfolios with all my work, everything from sketches and paintings to my filmography. Have a look and if you like what you see or you’re a fellow creative that would like to collaborate on some project, don’t hesitate to drop me a line or check out my social media accounts!
