Hello there! My name is Ida Thomasdotter. I’m an actress, writer and director from Sweden but I’m currently based in London. bwIda photo_1Painting by Ljusnan

A little bit about me: I’ve studied film and theatre for seven years in different schools; I attended the Acting program at Vancouver Film School, Film Foundation at The Dramatic Institute in Stockholm and Broby Grafiska‘s Scriptwriting Program, amongst others. I also worked as 1st and 2nd assistant director, script supervisor and casting assistant in a number of independent film productions in Stockholm for about five years, before moving to London, which taught me a lot as well. A few people who have inspired me more than anyone (who aren’t my parents) are Swedish theatre director Eva Dahlman, Canadian thespian Ian Raffel, Canadian Actor and Teacher Stephen Park, and fellow struggling actor and best friend Cesar Erba. I tend to have several projects on the go at the same time. Right now, I’m trying to find a producer for my first feature film project as a writer/director while also working on my second novel and focusing on my acting career. I finished my latest (fifth) short film “Blodsmak / Blood” in the spring of 2016 and it’s currently being considered by film festivals around the world. On this site you will find a collection of portfolios with all my work, everything from sketches and paintings to my filmography. Have a look and if you like what you see or you’re a fellow creative that would like to collaborate on some project, don’t hesitate to drop me a line or check out my social media accounts!
